RAIN/ARCHER Seminar Series 2023

RAIN (Rapid Air Improvement Network) is a research infrastructure grant with several research-grade equipment’s & a variety of low cost air quality sensors distributed across 6 departments at UBC. This collaborative monthly seminar series with RAIN and ARCHER (Atmospheric Research in Climate, Health and Energy Resource at UBC) members, provides a platform to get to know the available infrastructure being utilized for aerosol research on campus.

Speakers will be RAIN/ARCHER members (PhDs, postdocs, etc.) who are using the instrument for their research project. Presentations will be 20-25 min, followed by 15 min discussion. Monthly seminar will be conducted on the last Thursday of each month; 10:00 am – 11:00 am (for location, see below). Presentations will focus on describing the working concept of the instrument and its capabilities (e.g. various modes, usage, research question that can be addressed, kind of data output, etc.) and discussing datasets from ongoing or published work (done at UBC or other researchers’ work). Presentations should be kept simple and accessible as the audience will constitute of aerosol scientists but with different backgrounds e.g. chemistry, environmental science, biology, etc.
